GREG KOHS filmmaker

Reel As Dirt is the creation of ten-time Emmy®-winning filmmaker Greg Kohs, who has applied his inimitable storytelling to all of his branded content, commercial and feature film work.

 

Kohs, a member of the DGA, is a proud native of the Motor City and graduate of Notre Dame. He honed his signature “captured not contrived” storytelling aesthetic at NFL Films right out of college.

 

Selected as an elite "Goose Person" by luxury brand, Canada Goose, Greg has an interest in projects with soul, and a particular passion for those of his subjects who doggedly pursue their own passions. He crafts these stories with an eye towards visually striking and honest imagery.

Kohs real-as-dirt storytelling has been brought to bear in all his award-winning documentaries, including "Song Sung Blue" (2008), "The Great Alone" (2015), "AlphaGo" (2017), "COIN" (2022), and his latest, “The Thinking Game” (2024) which will celebrate its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
